Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse for our Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced and challenging environment. As a CVICU nurse, you will play a critical role in the recovery of patients undergoing cardiac procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout their stay.

Shift: 7P-7A | 13 wks | 36 hrs/wk
Pay: $1685 weekly
Ratios: 2:1 | 36 beds
Req: 2+ yrs exp | EOW, Float as needed
Burn Trauma ICU: 30 beds

Duties

  • Deliver high-quality patient care by performing comprehensive physical examinations and assessments.
  • Administer medications and manage intravenous (IV) therapy effectively.
  • Provide acute pain management through appropriate interventions and monitoring.
  • Conduct catheterization procedures as required, ensuring adherence to infection control protocols.
  • Implement airway management techniques for patients in respiratory distress or requiring ventilatory support.
  • Engage in health coaching to educate patients and families about recovery processes and lifestyle modifications.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and execute individualized care plans tailored to each patient's needs.
  • Monitor vital signs, detect changes in patient conditions, and respond promptly to emergencies or complications.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities, treatments, and outcomes.

Job Requirements

Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:

  • Proven experience in patient care within an acute care setting, preferably in critical care or CVICU environments.
  • Proficiency in trauma medicine, demonstrating the ability to respond effectively to urgent situations.
  • Strong knowledge of infection control practices to ensure patient safety during all procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while maintaining a focus on quality patient outcomes.
