United Staffing Solutions is representing a recycling company in Hazleton, PA who is looking for Torch Cutters to join their team. The Torch Cutter prepares materials for shipment by cutting various metals to a specified size using an oxygen/acetylene and/or an oxygen/propane hand torch.

Pay: $17/hr

Schedule: Mon-Fri, day shift, OT as needed

Responsibilities:

• Cut materials to specified size using an oxygen/acetylene and/or oxygen/propane hand torch
• Receive unprocessed materials and sort/separate the materials by grade, inventory, type, and family to specification
• Communicate with supervisor and other employees through verbal, written, and/or radio communication
• Maintain work area and equipment in a safe and clean condition at all times
• Attend and participate in all safety, toolbox, and other assigned training unless specifically excused
• Cooperate with and exhibit respect to other employees, customers, and visitors
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

• High school diploma, GED certification, or six months to one year related experience and/or training required
• This is a safety-sensitive position. Therefore, ability to operate in an alert and safe manner is required.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical required
• Ability to proficiently speak and understand written and verbal English required
• Basic knowledge of the physical characteristics used to identify ferrous and non-ferrous metals preferred
• Will provide training, but previous possession of operator’s certificate/license for the operation of forklifts, skid-steers, and other mobile equipment preferred
• Previous experience in a scrap facility preferred
