TEACHING ASSISTANT – SPECIAL EDUCATION - TEMPORARY ASSIGNMENT

United Staffing Solutions, a leader in the staffing industry is representing a well-established, private, special education school, who is seeking a NYS Certified Teaching Assistant. They pride themselves on helping students in grades Kindergarten – 21 years old to achieve success by supporting each child’s learning style.

Can you start immediately or in January?

Salary - $22.00-$24.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-2:15pm/2:30pm

Responsibilities for the Teaching Assistant:

• Assist individuals or small groups of students with instruction
• Help support teacher with classroom management
• Develop class materials and help assign tasks
• Monitor students progress during tests and class assignments

• Minimum of an Associate’s Degree preferred
• Must have a NYS Teaching Assistant Certificate
• Minimum of 1-2 years previous experience working with special needs children in a special education setting
• Experience with children with developmental disabilities and ability to communicate and relate to their challenges
• Ability to provide 3 references from former employers, teachers or professional sources
