Job Description

United Staffing Solutions, is seeking dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurses in Manhattan, NY. As an SICU Nurse, you will provide specialized care to critically ill patients in our intensive care unit. Your expertise and attention to detail will be crucial in monitoring and managing patients' conditions, administering medications, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Pay: $65/hr with weekly pay

Responsibilities of the SICU RN:
- Assessing and evaluating patients' conditions and developing individualized care plans
- Monitoring vital signs, oxygen levels, and cardiac rhythms
- Administering medications, IV fluids, and blood products as prescribed
- Operating and maintaining specialized equipment such as ventilators and cardiac monitors
- Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans
- Providing emotional support and education to patients and their families
- Documenting patient care activities accurately and thoroughly in electronic medical records systems (Cerner, Athenahealth)
- Adhering to infection control protocols and maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff

Job Requirements

- Valid RN license in the state of New York
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an ICU or critical care setting
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred
- Strong clinical assessment skills with the ability to recognize changes in patient status
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with the healthcare team
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick decisions in emergency situations
- Proficiency in using medical imaging equipment (CT scans) for diagnostic purposes
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus
- Knowledge of health coaching principles for patient education and support
