Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Location: Manhattan, NY or Brooklyn, NY
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | In-Person
Salary: $75,000–$95,000/year (based on experience)
Job Type: Full-time
Join one of the world's largest brain injury special education programs serving children with brain injuries and brain-based disorders. This innovative organization is expanding its outpatient services and research initiatives while providing life-changing care through a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate students using standardized clinical assessment tools and develop individualized treatment plans
- Develop, implement, and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Provide speech-language therapy to students with brain injuries and neurological disorders
- Collaborate with physical therapists, occupational therapists, special education teachers, assistive technology specialists, and other members of the interdisciplinary team
- Educate and support families and caregivers regarding treatment goals and progress
- Maintain timely documentation, progress reports, session notes, and clinical records
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, patient care conferences, and educational planning
- Utilize creative, multi-sensory treatment approaches incorporating technology, music, and other evidence-based interventions
- Participate in clinical research, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives
- Assist with staff education, training, and research presentations
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, FERPA, and organizational policies
Job Requirements
- Active New York State Speech-Language Pathologist license (or eligibility for NY licensure)
- Pediatric experience with brain injury, neurological disorders, or medically complex children preferred
- Strong communication, clinical reasoning, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Research experience preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently
- Detail-oriented, adaptable, and highly motivated
- Positive attitude and a great sense of humor
