Job Description

United Staffing Solutions, a leader in the staffing industry has the pleasure of assisting a successful, private, special education school who is seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher.

Salary - $70,000-$80,000 Depending on experience

Excellent benefits package – Medical, Dental, Vision, Retirement Program

Days/Hours: Monday, Thursday, Friday, 7:55am-2:40pm, Tuesday, 7:55am-3:30pm and Wednesday, 7:55am-4pm.

Responsibilities for the Special Education Teacher:

  • Create academic plans and goals based on assessment data
  • Monitor and analyze each student’s progress related to communication, academics, behavior and social skills
  • Involvement in the IEP process
  • Work with service providers, home base providers, parents and the multidisciplinary team

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of a MA in Special Education or a related field
  • NYS Certification in Special Education Grades 1-6 or 7-12
  • Minimum of 3 years previous experience teaching middle or high school students with learning disabilities
  • Must have prior experience teaching in a special education setting
  • Highly skilled in the IEP process
  • Ability to work with parents, teachers and faculty
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
