Special Education Teachers – Manhattan & Queens
United Staffing Solutions, a leader in the staffing industry is assisting several well-established, private, special education schools in Queens and Manhattan.
These schools pride themselves on fostering a supportive environment for students that have special learning needs. They are seeking teachers with a variety of skills and experience.
Special Education Teacher positions available in elementary, middle,and high school.
Salary: $70,000-$85,000 Depending on Experience. Excellent benefits included.
Schedule: M-F, encompassing hours from 8am-4pm and may be required to attend after school meetings on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, starting at 3:30pm and 4pm.
We are seeking Teachers with a minimum of 1 year experience in any of the following categories:
- Elementary School
- Middle School Math & Social Studies
- High School Earth Science & Biology
- High School Math
Responsibilities for the Special Education Teacher:
- Creating academic plans and goals based on assessment data
- Monitoring and analyzing each student’s progress related to communication, academics, behavior and social skills
- Involvement in the IEP process
- Working with service providers, home base providers, parents and the multidisciplinary team
Job Requirements
- Minimum of a MA in Special Education or a related field
- NYS Certification in Special Education Grades Birth-Grade 2, 1-6 or 7-12
- Minimum of 2 years previous experience teaching students with learning disabilities in a classroom setting
- Ability to work with parents, teachers and faculty
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
