Job Description
SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHERS – Manhattan & Queens
United Staffing Solutions, a leader in the staffing industry is assisting several well-established, private, special education schools in Queens and Manhattan.
These schools pride themselves on fostering a supportive environment for students who have special learning needs. They are seeking teachers with a variety of skills and experience.
Special Education Teacher Positions are available in elementary, middle and high school grades.
Salary: $70,000-$85,000 Depending on Experience
Excellent Benefits Package.
Days/Hours: M-F, encompassing hours from 8 am-4 pm and may be required to attend after-school meetings on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, starting at 3:30 pm and 4 pm.
We are seeking the following Teachers with a minimum of 1 year experience:
- Elementary School
- Middle School Math & Social Studies
- High School Earth Science & Biology
Responsibilities for the Special Education Teacher:
- Create academic plans and goals based on assessment data
- Monitor and analyze each student’s progress related to communication, academics, behavior and social skills
- Involvement in the IEP process
- Work with service providers, home base providers, parents and the multidisciplinary team
Job Requirements
- Minimum of a MA in Special Education or a related field
- NYS Certification in Special Education Grades Birth-Grade 2, 1-6 or 7-12
- Minimum of 2 years previous experience teaching students with learning disabilities in a classroom setting
- Skilled in the IEP process
- Ability to work with parents, teachers and faculty
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
