Job Description
SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER
United Staffing Solutions, a leader in the staffing industry has the pleasure of assisting a successful, prestigious Manhattan private school who is seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher with a specialization in Applied Behavior Analysis.
Start date July through September, flexible. This is a 12-month program.
Salary: $70,000-$85,000 DOE
Excellent benefits package: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required.
Responsibilities for the Special Education Teacher:
- Create academic plans and goals based on assessment data
- Supervise a 1:1 classroom and 2:1 instructors in the classroom
- Monitor and analyze each student’s progress related to communication, academics, behavior and social skills
- Responsible for academic and behavior analytic assessments
- Work with service providers, home base providers, parents and the multidisciplinary team
Job Requirements
- Minimum of a MA in Special Education or a related field
- 2 years of ABA experience strongly preferred
- Minimum of 3 years previous teaching experience in a special education setting
- Ability to work with parents, teachers and faculty
- NYS Certification in Special Education
- NYS Certification in Early Childhood Education
- Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA) and Licensed Behavior Analysts (LBA) are strongly preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be Covid vaccinated
