Job Description
High School Special Education Science Teacher - Private School Teacher - Special Education Teacher
United Staffing Solutions, a leader in the staffing industry, is representing a private special education school in New Rochelle that is seeking two dedicated High School Special Education Science Teachers to join their team this September. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity beginning immediately with a competitive pay rate and a supportive school environment.
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–2:30pm

- Two staff meetings per month until 3:30pm
- Full-year-round, 12-month program
- Pay Rate: $41.50-$47.50/hour (depending on experience)
- Location: Conveniently located in New Rochelle, just a 5–10 minute walk from Metro North. Parking lot and street parking are also available.
- Class Size: 12–15 students
- Subjects: Openings available in General Science, Environmental Science, and Living Environment
Responsibilities for the Special Education Science Teacher:
- Developing and delivering engaging science lessons aligned with NYS standards
- Modifying curriculum to meet the diverse needs of students with special needs
- Creating and maintaining a structured, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
- Collaborating with colleagues, therapists, and support staff to implement IEPs effectively
- Assessing student progress and providing ongoing communication with parents/guardians
- Participating in staff meetings, professional development, and school events
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
- NYS Teacher Certification (Special Education and/or Science preferred)
- Minimum of 1-2 years previous experience working with special needs children in a special education setting
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to provide 3 references from former employers, teachers or professional sources
