SPECIAL EDUCATION SPANISH TEACHER

United Staffing Solutions, a leader in the staffing industry has the pleasure of assisting a successful, private, special education school who is seeking an experienced Special Education Spanish Teacher. The Spanish Teacher will be responsible for teaching 8th and 9th graders.

This position starts in September.

Salary - $70,000-$80,000. Depending on experience

Days/Hours: M-F, 8:00a.m. to 2:30p.m., with the exception of Tuesdays and Wednesdays when there are after school meetings at 3:30p.m. and 4:00p.m.

Responsibilities for the Spanish Teacher:

• Create academic plans and goals based on assessment data
• Monitor and analyze each student’s progress related to communication, academics, behavior and social skills
• Involvement in the IEP process
• Work with service providers, parents and the multidisciplinary team
• Teach one period of a High School elective for a mix of grades 9-12

• Minimum of a MA in Special Education or a related field
• NYS Certification in Special Education Grades 1-6 or 7-12
• Minimum of 2 years previous experience teaching middle or high school students with learning disabilities
• Must have prior experience teaching Spanish in a special education setting
• Highly skilled in the IEP process
• Ability to work with parents, teachers and faculty
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to provide 3 business reference
