Recreation Assistant

We are seeking a compassionate, creative, and energetic Recreation Assistant to join a dedicated team enhancing the lives of residents in a healthcare setting. This is a fantastic opportunity to engage with the community, organize meaningful activities, and bring joy to others!
Schedule: Monday–Thursday & Sunday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
Pay Rate: $17.50-$18/hour depending on experience
Assignment Length: 2–3 months (potential to extend)

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support engaging activity programs tailored to residents’ physical, cognitive, and personal interests
• Assist with setup, implementation, and cleanup of recreational programs
• Motivate residents to participate in activities that reflect their hobbies and interests
• Maintain accurate daily attendance and participation records
• Support residents in getting to and from activity locations
• Help with calendar planning and coordinate with external vendors or entertainers
• Distribute monthly activity calendars and assist with communications
• Follow all safety and emergency procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Positive, upbeat attitude with a passion for improving others' quality of life
• Experience as a Recreation Leader or in a similar healthcare setting is a plus
• Background in recreation therapy or related college coursework preferred
• Proficient with computers and technology
• Strong organization and multitasking skills
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
