Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse - Telemetry to join a healthcare team in Aurora, CA. This role is essential in providing high-quality patient care in a telemetry unit, where you will monitor patients' vital signs and respond to their needs effectively.

Pay: $63/hr with weekly pay

Shift: 7 pm-7 am; Nights

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and assess patients' vital signs and telemetry readings continuously.
  • Administer medications and IV infusions as prescribed by the physician.
  • Assist in discharge planning and coordinate with other healthcare professionals to ensure a smooth transition for patients.
  • Provide education to patients and their families regarding health management and post-discharge care.
  • Perform phlebotomy procedures as needed for lab tests.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in electronic health records.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the telemetry unit.

Job Requirements

The successful candidate should possess the following skills:

  • Proficient in IV infusion techniques and administration of injections.
  • Experience with senior care practices, including MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments.
  • Knowledge of hospital medicine protocols and procedures.
  • Familiarity with discharge planning processes to facilitate safe patient transitions.
  • Experience working in a Level I Trauma Center is preferred.
  • Understanding of workers' compensation law as it pertains to patient care.
  • Ability to perform dermal fillers is a plus but not required.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills to assess situations quickly and make informed decisions regarding patient care.
