Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP)
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing support and advocacy for individuals with intellectual disabilities. This position involves developing, implementing, and monitoring individualized care plans to ensure the highest quality of life for residents. The QIDP will collaborate with families, staff, and external agencies to promote the well-being and rights of each individual.
Pay: $30/hr
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized service plans based on assessments and evaluations of residents.
- Monitor the progress of residents towards their goals and adjust care plans as necessary.
- Provide direct support to individuals, assisting them with daily living activities while promoting independence.
- Advocate for resident rights and ensure compliance with all regulations and policies.
- Conduct regular assessments to evaluate the needs of residents, including health, safety, and emotional well-being.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and services for residents.
- Facilitate training sessions for staff on topics such as conflict management, medical terminology, and first aid.
- Maintain accurate documentation of resident progress, incidents, and any changes in care plans.
Job Requirements
- A degree in social work, psychology, nursing, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in nursing homes or childcare settings is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of patient care practices, dementia care techniques, and direct support strategies.
- Strong understanding of resident rights and advocacy principles.
- Excellent conflict management skills with the ability to handle challenging situations effectively.
- Familiarity with medical terminology is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
