Location: Manhattan, NY or Brooklyn, NY
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (In-Person)
Salary: $75,000–$95,000/year (based on experience)

With campuses in Manhattan and Brooklyn, our organization is expanding its outpatient services and research initiatives while providing innovative, multidisciplinary care to students with complex medical and educational needs.

Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team. The student population primarily consists of non-verbal and non-ambulatory children with brain injuries and neurological disorders. The Physical Therapist will evaluate students, develop and implement individualized treatment plans, contribute to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and collaborate closely with educators, therapists, and families to maximize each student's functional abilities and quality of life.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate students using standardized clinical assessment tools
  • Develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans
  • Prepare and maintain current Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Coordinate care with speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, teachers, and other members of the interdisciplinary team
  • Provide education and training to families and caregivers
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and care conferences
  • Complete timely clinical documentation, session notes, progress reports, and required reports
  • Utilize evidence-based, data-driven interventions to improve functional outcomes
  • Incorporate creative, multi-sensory treatment approaches using technology, music, and other therapeutic modalities
  • Participate in clinical research, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education
  • Assist with staff education and in-service training
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, FERPA, and organizational policies

Job Requirements

  • Active New York State Physical Therapist license (or eligibility for NY licensure)
  • Minimum 2 years of pediatric physical therapy experience working with children with brain injuries or neurological disorders
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Research experience and NDT training preferred
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds independently
  • Detail-oriented, adaptable, highly motivated, and organized
  • Positive attitude and a great sense of humor
