Overview
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a vital role in providing assistance and support to individuals with developmental disabilities. This position focuses on enhancing the quality of life for clients by promoting independence and ensuring their physical, emotional, and social well-being. DSPs work closely with clients in various settings, including assisted living facilities and residential homes, to foster a supportive and engaging environment.

Pay: $16.75 per hour

Duties

• Provide personal care assistance to clients, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
• Support individuals in daily living activities such as meal preparation, medication management, and household tasks.
• Facilitate social interactions and community engagement by organizing recreational activities.
• Assist clients with mobility and transportation needs to ensure safe access to appointments and outings.
• Maintain a clean and organized living environment for clients.
• Document client progress and report any changes in behavior or health to the appropriate personnel.
• Uphold resident rights while ensuring dignity and respect in all interactions.
• Implement individualized care plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each client.

• Proficiency in First Aid and CPR techniques is highly desirable.
• Experience in dementia care, memory care, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Strong understanding of patient care principles and resident rights.
• Ability to provide compassionate caregiving while maintaining professionalism.
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and team members.
