Patient Care Technician (PCT) – Psychiatric Unit

United Staffing Solutions is currently hiring experienced Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) for the Psychiatric Unit. We are seeking compassionate, dependable professionals with a strong background in psychiatric care to join our healthcare team and deliver essential patient support services.

Location: Brooklyn, NY
Pay Rate: $25/hour
Shifts: Nights, Evenings, Weekends
Job Type: Full-Time and Part-Time Available

Available Shifts:

• Night Shift: Monday through Friday (5x8s)
• Evening Shift: Monday through Friday (6x8s)
• Weekends Only: Night and Evening Shifts

Experience working in a psychiatric unit is required for all shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide personal care assistance such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene
• Assist with feeding and preparing patients for meals
• Collect specimens and empty bedpans as needed
• Transfer patients using proper techniques including Hoyer lifts
• Record accurate vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration)
• Support ambulation and patient transport via wheelchair or stretcher
• Perform range-of-motion exercises using proper technique
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow established procedures

• Must be able to walk, stand, bend, stretch, lift, and assist patients
• Ability to read, write, and interpret documents
• Will be exposed to blood, body fluids, and other patient care hazards
• Knowledge of OSHA guidelines and infection control procedures required
• May be required to handle hazardous materials and operate equipment
• Must be able to lift and assist patients as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

• Certificate from an approved Patient Care Technician (PCT) program, including EKG and phlebotomy training
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
• High school diploma or GED
• Intermediate reading and math skills
• Prior experience in a psychiatric unit is mandatory
