Cook/Housekeeper
Job Description
United Staffing Solutions is looking for a Cook/Housekeeper for a government facility in Manhattan, NY. This is a unique opportunity to work in a formal setting, ensuring the residence is maintained to the highest standard while preparing meals for the principal resident(s) and guests.
Schedule: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm
Pay: $27.84/hr
Responsibilities
Housekeeping
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of living spaces, bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, and common areas.
- Perform routine cleaning tasks (dusting, vacuuming, mopping, sanitizing).
- Manage laundry services, including washing, ironing, and organizing clothing and linens.
- Care for household furniture, fixtures, and appliances.
- Monitor and replenish household supplies.
- Provide waitstaff support for official events and dinners.
Cooking
- Plan, prepare, and serve meals for 2–5 persons.
- Accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Maintain a clean, organized kitchen with proper food storage.
- Follow all food safety and hygiene standards.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of professional housekeeping and cooking experience, preferably in a high-profile or formal setting.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, tools, and products.
- Experience in meal preparation for small groups.
- Strong time management skills and ability to work independently.
- Professionalism, discretion, and excellent communication skills.
- Physically able to perform housekeeping and cooking duties (lifting up to 20 lbs).
