School Occupational Therapist Asssistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our Thornton, Colorado school-based team. You’ll work with students to support their ability to participate in everyday school activities, promote independence, and help them succeed academically and socially.

This would primarily be in an elementary school, but may be asked to support other schools as needed.

Location: Thornton, CO
Pay Rate: $42-48/hour depending on experience

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students in accordance with IEP goals and district guidelines.
• Assess students’ fine motor, sensory processing, self-care, and school participation skills.
• Develop and implement individualized therapy plans.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to support student needs.
• Document evaluations, progress notes, and treatment plans in compliance with school and state regulations.
• Recommend and assist with adaptive equipment and classroom modifications.
• Participate in IEP meetings and provide professional input.

• Master’s or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current Occupational Therapist license in Colorado State.
• Previous school-based experience preferred, but not required.
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.
