Medical Science Liaison - Pharma — Home-based — Non-Opioid Pain Management
United Staffing Solutions, a leader in staffing, is representing a unique company specializing in non-opioid pain management products in their search for an experienced Medical Science Liaison. This is a direct hire, permanent position.
Generous compensation package includes salary up to $200k-$213k (depending on experience) as well as medical benefits, 401(k) eligibility, vacation, sick time, and parental leave.
This position is fully remote with up to 75% required travel to medical meetings, team meetings, and other group meetings in Palo Alto and surrounding areas. Travel will require some weekends.
The Medical Science Liaison is focused on developing and maintaining peer-to-peer relationships with key opinion leaders We are seeking a high-energy, compassionate, and collaborative individual.
Responsibilities for the Medical Science Liaison:
- Developing and maintaining peer-to-peer collaborations and relationships with key opinion leaders in the pain management, neurology (migraine) and gout community
- Serving as scientific peer-to-peer resource to external disease experts and internal stakeholders
- Supporting the medical community with up-to-date medical information, robust disease expertise, and product information
- Collaborating with medical affairs management on internal initiatives including publications, advisory boards, medical education opportunities, training, and speaker development
- Attending national and regional medical meetings and symposia as a representative of the company and engaging in discussions with attendees as appropriate, staffing the medical booth when necessary
- Delivering fair-balanced and objective clinical and scientific presentations to healthcare professionals and payors in response to unsolicited requests for information on the use of company products
- Identifying and training speakers for advisory boards, symposia, and educational programs with regulatory-approved materials, slide sets, abstracts, posters, etc.
- Training internal stakeholders on key scientific and medical topics in relevant therapeutic area
- Communicating clinical insights on new data, competitive information and disease landscape shifts to internal stakeholders and informs medical strategy
- Facilitating the identification and execution of strategically aligned investigator initiated studies, per company policy
- Supporting clinical development initiatives including site identification, trial recruitment, registry, and presentation of final approved data
- Maintaining a thorough awareness of medical/clinical, regulatory, compliance, and quality issues and processes and supports the standards established by the company
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, pharmacy, or other medical related discipline. Advanced degree (PharmD, MD, PhD) highly preferred
- At least 5 years of experience in Medical Affairs or Medical Science role
- Prior experience in Neurology (migraine), Pain Management or Gout is preferred
- Well-established networks and active relationships with KOLs in the Neurology (migraine), Pain Management or Gout community
- Understanding of compliance considerations and demonstrate ability to work compliantly in a field-based role, within the medical organization, as well as across the commercial organization
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and excellent presentation skills
- Excellent time management skills and successful track record of ability to work independently
- Start-up Experience is a plus, not a must
