Interim Head Teacher (Temporary)
Location: New York, NY 10022
Pay: $28–$35/hour (based on experience)
Job Type: Temporary / Interim
Duration: Approximately 1 month
Start Date: ASAP
Schedule: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM (may be 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
We are seeking a Temporary / Interim Head Teacher to support a school program while permanent positions are being backfilled. This role requires hands-on experience working with children with behavioral needs.
A Master’s degree is not required for this interim assignment.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and daily oversight of the classroom/program
- Support students with behavioral needs in a structured educational setting
- Supervise staff and maintain a safe, supportive learning environment
- Collaborate with school leadership during the transition period
- Ensure continuity of instruction and student support
Job Requirements
- Experience working with children with behavioral needs
- Classroom leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to start immediately
