Job Description

United Staffing Solutions, a leader in the healthcare staffing industry, is seeking dedicated and skilled Registered Nurses for an ICU team in Omaha, NE. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background and demonstrate exceptional patient care skills in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $1795/week

Start Date: 10/14/2024

Contract Length: 13 weeks, with the option to extend

Shift: 11.5x3 nights

Duties of the ICU Nurse:

  • Conduct thorough physical examinations and assessments of patients in the ICU.
  • Monitor vital signs and manage complex medical equipment to support patient health.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Perform venipuncture and other necessary procedures for patient care.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment options, and post-discharge care.
  • Maintain accurate medical records, including documentation of patient progress using ICD-10 coding when applicable.
  • Provide care for pediatric patients as needed, ensuring age-appropriate interventions are implemented.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the ICU setting, contributing to a culture of safety and excellence.
  • Support the hospital's mission as a Level II Trauma Center by providing critical care during emergencies.

Job Requirements

Candidates should have:

  • A valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • Previous experience in an ICU or similar critical care environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with primary care practices and occupational health is advantageous.
  • Strong clinical skills in infection control measures and handling durable medical equipment (DME).
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining a compassionate approach to patient care.
