Job Description
Special Education Teacher – Academic Support Team
United Staffing Solutions, a leader in the staffing industry, is seeking dedicated and passionate Special Education Teachers to join an Academic Support Team in The Bronx, NY. This role focuses on supporting students with disabilities in grades 9–12 through individualized instruction and comprehensive support aligned with their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
Location: Bronx, NY 10455
Student Hours:
- Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday: 9:00 AM – 4:15 PM
- Wednesday: 9:00 AM – 1:15 PM (subject to change)
Teacher Hours: Approximately 25–30 hours per week, with reduced hours during holiday weeks
Pay Rate: $40–$50 per hour DOE
Job Type: Temporary (April)
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver specially designed instruction tailored to students’ unique needs.
- Assist with the writing and implementation of IEPs, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
- Lead IEP meetings to review progress, set goals, and engage stakeholders in students’ success.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that empowers students to achieve academic growth.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field.
- Valid New York State Special Education Certification (Grades 7–12 preferred).
- Experience with IEP development and implementation.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Passion for working with high school students with diverse learning needs.
