Job Description
Registered Nurse – Behavioral Health (7A–7P)
Location: Rutherfordton, NC 28139
Schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Weekly Pay: $1,700
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Behavioral Health Registered Nurse for a day shift position in a behavioral health unit. The RN will work closely with patients dealing with mental health challenges, providing therapeutic support and clinical care in a structured setting.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and monitor patients’ mental and physical health
- Administer prescribed medications and document effects
- Develop and implement individualized care plans
- Respond to psychiatric crises using appropriate de-escalation techniques
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including psychiatrists, social workers, and therapists
- Provide emotional support and health education to patients and families
- Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with facility policies
Job Requirements
- Active RN license in North Carolina (or compact state)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a behavioral or psychiatric setting preferred
- BLS certification required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm in high-stress situations
