Job Description
United Staffing Solutions is representing a high-end restaurant who is looking for experienced and professional Grill Cooks in Soho Manhattan, NY. We are seeking a talented and experienced individual who can deliver exceptional grilled dishes to our clientele. Pay: $19-23/hr depending on experience
Schedule: Night and weekends required,
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of high-quality grilled dishes, including meats, seafood, and vegetables, according to the restaurant's recipes and standards.
- Ensure all grilled items are cooked to perfection, maintaining consistency in taste, texture, and presentation.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to coordinate food preparation and ensure timely service.
- Adhere to strict sanitation and food safety regulations, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the grill area.
- Monitor inventory levels of grill-related supplies and communicate needs to the kitchen manager.
- Assist in developing new grilling techniques and menu items, staying up to date with culinary trends and innovations.
- Take pride in maintaining a clean, well-stocked, and efficient grill station.
- Demonstrate exceptional teamwork, communication, and a positive attitude in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Job Requirements
- Proven experience as a Grill Cook or similar role in a high-end or fine dining restaurant.
- Minimum of 2 years of cooking experience in a professional setting.
- Extensive knowledge of grilling techniques, temperatures, and cooking times for various meats, seafood, and vegetables.
- Strong understanding of different cuts of meat and their unique characteristics.
- Ability to maintain consistent quality and presentation under pressure and during busy service periods.
- Excellent knife skills and the ability to handle kitchen equipment with precision and safety.
- Solid knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate efficiently with colleagues.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the restaurant's operating hours.
