SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER – MATH - MIDDLE AND UPPER SCHOOL

United Staffing Solutions, a leader in the staffing industry has the pleasure of assisting a successful, prestigious Manhattan private school who is seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher to teach 6th grade Math. Knowledge of middle or upper school math curriculums is needed. Work with a talented faculty in an growing school in a new facility.

This is a 12 month program.

Salary - $75,000-$80,000 depending on experience

Hours – Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required for various school events.

Responsibilities for the Special Education Teacher:

• Create academic plans and goals based on assessment data
• Supervise a 1:1 classroom and 2:1 instructors in the classroom
• Monitor and analyze each student’s progress related to communication, academics, behavior and social skills
• Responsible for academic and behavior analytic assessments
• Work with service providers, home base providers, parents and the multidisciplinary team

• Minimum of a MA in Special Education or a related field
• Minimum of 2 years previously teaching Math in a special education setting
• Working knowledge of IEPs
• Ability to work with parents, teachers and faculty
• NYS Certification in Childhood Education Grades 1-6 or 7-12 Students with Disabilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to provide 3 employment references
