Job Description
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHER – SPECIAL EDUCATION
United Staffing Solutions, a leader in the staffing industry has the pleasure of assisting a successful, private, special education school who is seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher to teach elementary school students who have special learning needs.
Salary - $70,000-$80,000 Depending on experience
Excellent benefits package – Medical, Dental, Vision, Retirement Program
Days/Hours: M-F, 7:55a.m. to 2:45p.m., with the exception of Tuesdays and Wednesdays when there are after school meetings at 3:30p.m. and 4:00p.m.
Responsibilities for the Special Education Teacher:
- Create academic plans and goals based on assessment data
- Monitor and analyze each student’s progress related to communication, academics, behavior and social skills
- Involvement in the IEP process
- Work with service providers, home base providers, parents and the multidisciplinary team
Job Requirements
- Minimum of a MA in Special Education or a related field
- NYS Certification in Special Education Birth-Grade 2 or Grades 1-6
- Minimum of 3 years previous experience teaching elementary school students with learning disabilities
- Must have prior experience teaching elementary school in a special education setting
- Highly skilled in the IEP process
- Ability to work with parents, teachers and faculty
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to provide 3 employment references
