High School Special Education Science Teacher - Private School Teacher - Special Education Teacher
United Staffing Solutions, a leader in the staffing industry, is representing a private special education school in New Rochelle that is seeking two dedicated High School Special Education Science Teachers to join their team this September. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity with a competitive salary and a supportive school environment.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–2:30pm

Two staff meetings per month until 3:30pm

Back to School Night: October 9th, 6:00pm–8:00pm

Full-year-round, 12-month program

Class Size: 12–15 students

Subjects: Openings available in General Science, Environmental Science, and Living Environment

Pay Rate: $41.50-$47.50/hour (depending on experience)

Location: Conveniently located in New Rochelle, just a 5–10 minute walk from Metro North. Parking lot and street parking available.
Responsibilities for the Special Education Science Teacher:

Developing and delivering engaging science lessons aligned with NYS standards

Modifying curriculum to meet the diverse needs of students with special needs

Creating and maintaining a structured, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment

Collaborating with colleagues, therapists, and support staff to implement IEPs effectively

Assessing student progress and providing ongoing communication with parents/guardians

Participating in staff meetings, professional development, and school events
Job Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree

NYS Teacher Certification (Special Education and/or Science preferred)

Minimum of 1-2 years previous experience working with special needs children in a special education setting

Strong classroom management and communication skills

Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

Ability to provide 3 references from former employers, teachers or professional sources
