TEACHER ASSISTANT (NY STATE CERTIFIED) – SPECIAL EDUCATION

United Staffing Solutions, a leader in the staffing industry is representing a well-established, private, special education school from grades Kindergarten-12th grade. They pride themselves on helping their students achieve success by supporting each child’s learning style.

This is a 12-month program.

Salary - $35,000-$40,000 depending on experience

Days/Hours: M-F, 8:00a.m. to 2:30p.m., with the exception of Tuesdays and Wednesdays when there are after school meetings at 3:30p.m. and 4:00p.m.

Responsibilities for the Teacher Assistant (NY State Certified):

• Monitor students entering and leaving
• Responsible for the student attendance report
• Implement daily instruction, activities, and behavior strategies
• Support students in their school activities
• Teach skills that are targeted goals for each student with support from the Head/Lead teacher

• Minimum of an Associate’s Degree or some college credits required
• Must have NYS Teaching Assistant Certificate
• Minimum of 1-2 years previous experience working with special needs children in a special education setting
• Experience with children with developmental disabilities and other related disorders preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to provide 3 professional work related references
