DIRECTOR OF SHELTER & COMMUNITY OUTREACH – HOSPITAL
United Staffing Solutions, a leader in the staffing industry has the pleasure of assisting a successful, well-established hospital that prides themselves on serving disadvantaged communities throughout New York City.
The Director of Shelter & Community Outreach involves managing an outreach staff, forming partnerships with case managers and social workers at non-profits and is the liaison between the hospital and shelters and safe houses.
This on-site managerial position will be reporting to the Executive Vice President of Clinical Administration/Chief Medical Office. You will be responsible for supervising a staff of 6 Outreach professionals.
The ideal candidate will feel comfortable selling services such as medical, dental, behavioral health, podiatry and optometry of which the hospital offers.
This position does require travel within the 5 boroughs and a company car will be provided.
Salary - $95,000-$100,000, depending on experience.
Excellent Benefits Package.
Hours/Days – M-F, 9am-5pm. Occasional weekend work is required in order to attend and present at workshops and fairs.
Responsibilities for the Director of Shelter & Community Outreach:
- Market services to family homeless shelters and family domestic violence safe houses
- Conduct presentations and participate in health fairs
- Identify new trends
- Create agreements with organizations that run homeless and domestic violence shelters
- Market services to the community
- Ensure safe and sufficient transportation to homeless and domestic violence shelter residents
- Attend community meetings
- Conduct tours of the clinic
- Prepare statistics and reports for upper management
- Willing to travel to various homeless shelters, safe houses and public housing
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field such as: Social Work or Public Administration or Communications/Marketing
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in healthcare outreach to vulnerable populations
- Must have valid, unexpired NYS Driver’s License
- Prior sales experience required
- Public speaking and program management experience in a healthcare environment
- Bilingual Spanish a plus not a must
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams and all levels of management
- Ability to multitask
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to provide 3 professional references
