Director of Human Resources & Office Operations – Law Firm – Senior HR Generalist
United Staffing Solutions is partnering with a well-established law firm in Manhattan’s Financial District to hire an experienced Director of Human Resources & Office Operations to oversee human resources functions and daily office operations.
This is a key leadership role for a proactive, highly organized professional who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment and takes pride in building strong, compliant, and supportive workplace systems.
Alternate Job Titles:
This role may also be known as: HR Manager, Human Resources Manager, Office Manager, HR Generalist, People Operations Manager, or Legal Office Manager.
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, Full-Time (expected to in office before 9am and stay until at least 5:30pm)
- Location: In-Office | Financial District, Manhattan
- Salary: $90,000–$120,000 per year, depending on experience
- Benefits: Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, Vision Insurance, 401(k), Paid Time Off
Responsibilities for the Director of Human Resources & Office Operations:
Human Resources & People Management
- Leading recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and employee development
- Maintaining compliant job descriptions, policies, and HR systems
- Managing performance reviews, compensation, and retention strategies
- Handling employee relations issues with professionalism and discretion
- Ensuring compliance with all employment laws and regulations
- Partnering with leadership to align HR strategy with business goals
Office Management & Operations
- Overseeing daily office operations and staff productivity
- Managing vendors, supplies, facilities, and office services
- Monitoring budgets and operational expenses
- Supporting and coaching administrative staff
- Managing communications and internal workflows
- Improving office processes and procedures
Job Requirements
- Prior experience in HR management and office administration (law firm or professional services environment preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of employment laws and compliance
- Experience with recruiting, onboarding, and performance management
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and multitasking skills
- Proficiency with HR systems and office management tools
- Experience with Paychex is a plus, not a must
- Spanish language skills are a plus, not a must
