DSP - Direct Support Professional - Immediate Hire
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities and other special needs. This position involves providing compassionate care, support, and assistance with daily living activities to ensure the safety and well-being of clients in various settings, including group homes, assisted living facilities, and home care environments.

Pay: $17.50/hr with weekly pay

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
• Monitor and document patient vital signs and behaviors to ensure proper care and intervention when necessary.
• Implement care plans tailored to individual needs while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
• Assist with medication administration as required, ensuring compliance with prescribed schedules.
• Engage clients in social activities and community outings to promote socialization and independence.
• Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping tasks.
• Provide personal care assistance including heavy lifting when necessary (e.g., using a Hoyer lift).
• Support clients with memory care, including those diagnosed with Alzheimer's or dementia.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other caregivers to coordinate comprehensive care.

• MUST HAVE PCT License
• Previous experience in caregiving or direct support roles is preferred; experience in group homes or assisted living is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of first aid and CPR certification is a plus.
• Familiarity with patient observation techniques and monitoring vital signs.
• Experience working with individuals who have autism or other developmental disabilities is beneficial.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
• Ability to perform cleaning duties as part of maintaining a safe environment for clients.
• Understanding of home health practices, hospice care principles, and long-term care experience is advantageous.
• Must be able to lift heavy objects as required by client needs.
