Position Summary:

We are seeking compassionate and reliable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our team at a summer camp in Fallsburg, NY, dedicated to supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. As a DSP, you will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and personal growth of campers, while helping them engage in recreational, social, and life skills activities in a fun and supportive camp environment.

This is a temporary assignment for 1-2 weeks.

Pay: $17/hr

Responsibilities:

• Provide hands-on support and supervision to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Assist campers with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, eating, and mobility.
• Support campers in participating in camp activities such as swimming, arts and crafts, sports, hiking, and music.
• Ensure a safe and inclusive environment, responding calmly and appropriately to behavioral or medical situations.
• Document daily progress, incidents, and other required records clearly and accurately.
• Collaborate with other camp staff, including counselors, nurses, and activity coordinators, to provide holistic support.
• Encourage independence, self-advocacy, and social interaction among campers.
• Maintain a positive, energetic attitude and serve as a role model for respectful, kind behavior.

• High school diploma or GED required; additional training or coursework in human services a plus.
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities strongly preferred.
• Patience, empathy, flexibility, and strong interpersonal skills are essential.
• Willingness to live on-site for the duration of the camp season (housing and meals provided, if applicable).
