Behavioral Services Supervisor
Pay: $43–$45 per hour (commensurate with experience)

Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic Behavioral Services Supervisor to provide leadership, guidance, and oversight to Behavioral Analysts and BIS staff across our residential programs. This role ensures staff consistently implement best practices in Positive Behavioral Supports (PBS) and Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) while promoting a person-centered philosophy of care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and update departmental policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Design and implement monitoring systems to ensure high-quality behavioral services.
  • Provide both administrative and clinical supervision to BIS staff, including evaluations.
  • Serve as a liaison between Behavioral Services and other clinical departments; communicate policy and practice changes clearly.
  • Oversee documentation requirements (ISPs, Functional Assessments, Behavior Plans, Human Rights presentations, data sheets, progress notes) to ensure OPWDD compliance.
  • Develop and facilitate in-service training programs, including orientation and ongoing staff development.
  • Recruit, hire, and train BIS staff for residential programs.
  • Conduct regular visits to residences to meet participants, review records, and support staff.
  • Ensure the use of Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) to identify causes of challenging behaviors and guide staff in teaching communication and skill development.
  • Advocate for the Minimum Effective Dose (MED) of psychotropic and behavioral medications when appropriate.
  • Oversee timely modifications of support plans when new or escalated behaviors arise.
  • Collaborate with Training and QA to maintain at least three SCIP-R instructors and ensure all BIS staff hold current SCIP-R certifications.
  • Complete annual and as-needed Quality Assurance reviews of all support plans.
  • Participate in agency committees such as the Human Rights Committee.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Psychology (PhD preferred) or BCBA certification.
  • Minimum of three (3) years post-master’s experience in developmental disabilities.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and overnights as needed.
  • Prior leadership and/or administrative experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong commitment to compliance with all laws, regulations, policies, and the agency’s corporate compliance program.
