Job Description

United Staffing Solutions is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Auto Claims Specialist for our client in Midtown Manhattan. This would be for a large and fast-growing mobile medical services company in the Manhattan, NY area.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in investigating and managing roadside-related incidents, ensuring the seamless handling of auto claims from initiation to resolution. Pay: $28-$30/hr DOE

Schedule: Full Time, Mon-Fri

Responsibilities:

  • Thoroughly investigate reported roadside-related incidents, gathering all required information such as police reports, witness statements, employee statements, and CCTV footage.
  • Notify internal stakeholders and insurance carriers promptly, escalating any unusual events.
  • Open new auto claims on the carrier’s incident portal and manage claims throughout the entire cycle.
  • Contact all parties involved in roadside incidents, determine liability, and efficiently settle open vehicle repair issues and claims.
  • Complete vehicle repair estimates up to $3,000 and recommend options.
  • Coordinate in-house repairs with the Fleet Department for optimal financial options.
  • Ensure all incidents are added to the Company’s incident management reporting system.
  • Work with Risk & Safety and Legal departments to settle pre-existing claims.
  • Coordinate with the National Operations Center (NOC) to assign drivers and review violations.
  • Review and analyze Samsara Fleet Monitoring data, collaborating with regional leaders and Human Resources for follow-through actions.
  • Manage Samsara partnership, exploring new features, equipment additions, safety features, and technological advances.
  • Provide the Director of Risk with incident trending data to reduce accidents and improve safety.
  • Maintain and further develop a working knowledge of auto insurance regulations and applicable state/federal statutes.
  • Create PowerPoint presentations and reports on precise Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for auto claims, incidents, and insurance loss runs.
  • Develop, create, and distribute safety Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to reduce roadside-related accidents and injuries.
  • Coordinate with the Fleet Department to ensure all documents (titles, registrations, bills of sale, lien records) remain relevant and current.
  • Ensure timely payment of all inbound vehicle, settlement, and other invoices.
  • Conduct regional field investigations and gap analysis processes.
  • Coordinate ordering and installation of auto safety equipment on the Company’s fleet.
  • Update the Company’s Drivers Guide, including Policies & Procedures on violations, Samsara usage, incident reporting, and eligibility requirements.
  • Ensure fleet and insurance schedules always remain current and relevant.
  • Coordinate with insurance brokers to produce insurance cards for all vehicles and distribute them to regional markets promptly.
  • Assist with various research projects and/or other special projects/tasks as assigned by Management.
  • Attend safety conferences and committees to remain current on industry benchmarks.
  • Cross-train in workers' compensation reporting procedures and investigations.
  • Cross-train in Fleet Administration with insurance renewals, registrations, and fleet schedules.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in auto claims management or a related role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of auto insurance regulations and relevant statutes.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Willingness to stay updated on industry trends and benchmarks.
