ASSISTANT HEAD OF SCHOOL - SPECIAL ED – PK-8TH GRADE

United Staffing Solutions, a leader in the staffing industry has the pleasure of assisting a successful, prestigious Manhattan independent school who is seeking an experienced Assistant Head of School, for PK-8th grade. We are looking for an individual with strong leadership skills, able to manage a staff and practices good judgement and discretion.

You will be reporting directly to the Head of School.

Salary - $125,000-$160,000, depending on experience

• This is a 12-month program
• Benefits include: Dental, health and vision insurance, 401(k)

Hours – Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm

Responsibilities for the Assistant Head of School:

• Working knowledge of IEPs
• Supervise daily teaching and operations, and will organize professional development for head teachers and instructors
• Coordinate all student support and all special education services and programs
• Help develop and monitor school policy and administrative regulations
• Other responsibilities will be discussed during interview

• Master’s Degree in Education or related field
• Must be NYS certified in Special Education
• Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in a K-12 educational setting
• Minimum of 3 years of special education experience in an educational setting
• Must have 5-7 years’ experience as a school leader or administrator
• Self-contained classroom experience a plus
• ABA trained highly preferred
• Experience with budget preparation and implementation
• Able to provide 3 job related references
