Special Education Lead Teacher - Special Education Private School

United Staffing Solutions, a leader in staffing, is representing a growing Private School seeking an experienced Lead Teachers for K-4. This is a full-year (12-month) direct hire/permanent position starting in September.

The school is in a new building with fantastic amenities such as a sensory gym, and has new leadership with years of experience supporting growing the careers of Special Education Teachers.

The school is located conveniently in Lower Manhattan near many subway lines and the PATH train.

Schedule is Mon-Fri 8am-4pm.

Salary is $70,000-$85,000/year depending on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities for the Lead Teacher:

• Creating academic plans and goals based on assessment data
• Supervising a 1:1 classroom and 2:1 instructors in the classroom
• Monitoring and analyzing each student’s progress related to communication, academics, behavior and social skills
• Performing academic and behavior analytic assessments
• Working with service providers, home-based providers, parents and the multidisciplinary team

• Masters in Education or Special Ed required
• At least 3 years previous teaching experience in a special education setting
• Experience working in a special needs self-contained classroom
• NYS Certification in Special Education
• NYS Certification in Early Childhood Education
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of ABA, or experience with ABA is a plus, not a must
