Occupational Therapist - Special Education Non-public School

United Staffing Solutions, a leader in the staffing industry is representing a well-established, non-public, K-12 special education school in their search for an Occupational Therapist. This is a direct hire, permanent position for a year-round (12-month) special education program located in Roosevelt Island (along the F-train line between Queens and Manhattan.)

Salary is $70,000-$90,000 depending on experience. Excellent benefits package included.

The schedule is Monday, Thursday, Friday 8am-2:30pm, Tuesdays 8am-3:30pm, and Wednesdays 8am-4pm.

Responsibilities of the Occupational Therapist:

• Providing at least 75% of the IEP mandated sessions for each child
• Evaluating and treating students
• Maintaining daily session notes
• Completing daily attendance records
• Writing progress reports and IEPs

• Must be licensed as an Occupational Therapist by the NYS Office of Professions
• At least 1-2 years of previous experience working with special needs children, preferably in a special education setting
• Experience working with children with developmental disabilities and other related disorders preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
