Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse for a Medical/Surgical unit in Omaha, NE. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care, support the medical team, and ensure the well-being of patients undergoing surgical procedures. This role requires a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Day or night shifts are available.

Compensation

  • Weekly Housing Allowance: $805.00
  • Weekly Meals Allowance: $469.00
  • Weekly Net Pay: $1,850.00
  • Weekly Gross Pay: $2,312.50

Responsibilities of the Medical Surgical Nurse

  • Patient Care:
  • Assess and monitor patient conditions, documenting medical records accurately.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including IV infusions and injections.
  • Perform catheterization and venipuncture as required for patient care.
  • Collaboration and Education:
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding post-operative care and recovery.
  • Critical Support:
  • Assist in critical care transport when necessary, ensuring patient safety during transfers.
  • Specialized Techniques:
  • Utilize sonography techniques when applicable to enhance patient assessments.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
  • Maintain compliance with health regulations and protocols in assisted living environments.
  • Stay updated on ICD-9 coding for accurate documentation of diagnoses.

Job Requirements

  • Preferred Experience:
  • Acute care settings with a focus on medical/surgical nursing.
  • Familiarity with critical care transport protocols.
  • Essential Skills:
  • Proficiency in medical records management.
  • Skills in IV infusion, catheterization, injections, venipuncture, sonography, and ICD-9 coding.
  • Desirable Experience:
  • Background in assisted living facilities for insight into long-term care needs.
